Terchová village

Vrátna is an interesting valley of Malá Fatra National Park, it is the biggest centre of summer and winter tourism in Malá Fatra. Vrátna valley is situated 3 km from Terchová village. It is considered to be the most beautiful valley of Malá Fatra.

The area Vrátna valley is bordered by circle of peaks Boboty, Veľký Rozsutec, Stoh, Poludňový grúň, Chleb, Veľký Kriváň, Kraviarske, Baraniarky and Sokolie.

In Vrátna valley there are couple of modern skiing centers with ski slopes with possibility of artificial snowing and good conditions for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding and skialpinism.

In the summer you can choose from dense network of marked tourist paths with different difficulty. The ridgeways are eased by cableways to Snilovské saddle and Grúň. Also the rock massifs are very interesting - Tiesňavy (the Narrow Passageway) with Zbojnícky chodník (the Rebel Path) and Jánošíkove diery (the Jánošík Holes). The center of tourism in Vrátna valley is the former shepherd village called Štefanová.
